MazterDizazter
Do the head bolts thread into the head as well as the block or just the block? I accidentally broke a head bolt and it looked as if the threads were long enough to thread into both block and head...
Administrators BRAAP Posted June 5, 2008 Administrators Share Posted June 5, 2008 They thread into the block only! Sometimes, enough grime builds up in the bolt holes that pass through the head and the bolts will "thread" out of the head during removal, making it seem/feel/look like the head is also threaded, which it is NOT! Just be sure to clean that grime out of those holes when you reinstall the head. Hope that helps. Paul
MazterDizazter
Woohoo! Thank goodness. I thought they were threaded into the head because it didn't seem to come loose on that side of the head when we removed all the bolts.
