Owen
I'm having trouble finding CV clamps/straps for my R230 CVs. Found some universal ones but they're not as wide and look pretty weak. Can I use hose clamp rings? If I put something in between the clamp and the boot, it shouldn't cut through, right? Owen
Guest Anonymous
Owen, I reused my clamps on my R230 swap. I probably have some used ones laying around if you need them. Mark
Owen
Thanks, I'll see how the universals work first. Got the adapters made and the diff mount will be finished tomorrow nite! Just gotta drill 2 more holes and then paint it. Owen
Guest Anonymous
Refer to the "Remedy for tearing CV boots" in this forum for the source of this tip. He uses adhesive in addition to the boot clamp on the larger end of the boot, and doesn't use any clamp on the smaller side to allow for air pressure that builds in the boot to vent. This guy is a Ferrari tech writer for Forza magazine, I suppose he knows from experience.
Owen
Thanks. I'll see if I can find it. One thing though, I give up on the universal clamps I bought, I'm gonna try hose clamps and maybe whatever is in this article. Owen
