mojus
Hey all, I have a z32 that just refuses to start. After going through all the basics I am at my wits end with this car and I am ready to have a mechanic look at it. Does anyone know a good shop in Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area of VA that works on Z's?
pparaska
This place has been around forever! I don't know if it's the same guy that ran it 20yrs ago, but that guy knew his stuff! http://www.tidewaterz.com/

boodlefoof
I'll give another vote for Tidewater Z in Poquoson. When I had a Z32, I took it there. They really know their stuff. I had a similar starting problem with mine at one point. Turned out to be a bad water temp sensor (right at the front of the engine, you can't miss it). When faulting, it will read as though overheating and it gets the ECU all out-of-whack.
zpizzaman20
Todd at Tidewater is the best around and he charges way less than most people.

mojus
Well I got the call today. They want $1,500 to replace three injectors and the valve cover gaskets. Does that seem to high to anyone else or is it just me?
HB280ZT
I have to second or third that Todd at Tidewater Z is the only person in the Tidewater area I would trust with my car, I did when I lived there. If you have Z questions you need to talk with the people in your area Z club: http://www.tzccva.org/ Enjoy! They have a great club and have lots of fun. KenshinX
Hmm do you have much experience servicing L series engines? If not unless you wanna pay the price I'd grab some books and start searching the forums. Yes its hard work but the savings are endless. Set of stock injectors used of ebay $50 gasket set $150 at the most depending on the material. But if thats not your profession or interests He does good work so although $1,500 is a lot its your only option.
zpizzaman20
This is a Z32 right? Call them and ask how many hours of labor and the price of parts. A Z32 is a real pain to pull injectors, check the standard rate I will be 6 hours or more of labor.
