uefa5
So my 75 doesnt start b/c when you crank it there is no power to the fuel pump, the pump works just fine when it has power but its not getting any, ive traced all the wires to it and they are all fine. I was reading up about the interlock system since my interior is currently gutted when i realized that i dont have a neutral position switch.... could this be causing the engine not to start as a "safety feature".....if so where can i get this switch, or is there any way to fool the car into thinking its in neutral thanks
Mr.INSANE
No such feature exists on S30's I've accidentally tried to start my 280Z in first, It moved I would start by checking your fusible links
uefa5
the fusible links are brand new, both of them, so thats not the problem im going to try to just hotwire the pump just to see if my engine will idle
Challenger
Is your car auto or man.? As MrInsane said you can start the car in gear.
GrayZee
Some Z's do have a neutral switch on the side of the tranny but they have nothing to do with starting the car. In the 240's it would cause the fasten seatbelt light (and buzzer) to turn on if you put it in any gear unless the driver's belt was clicked in. Some later Nissan's had them too, but it was a signal to the ecu to richen it up on deceleration.
uefa5
yea its a manual, the only reason i was concerned is that according to my 75 wiring diagram i should have it in my car, so i was baffled when it wasn't there
