autoxR
I have a 1975 280Z and someone has offered me a 1978 280z engine with round exhaust ports, mine has square, N42. Can I swap the motor right out making sure I use the round port ex. manifold, or am I dreaming and it's more complicated than that? Thanks in advance for your wisdom. Challenger
Are you wanting to use the n47 head with your motor or swap out the entire motor?

cockerstar
Square port headers/manifolds can be used with round port heads. Round port headers/exhaust manifolds can not be used with square port heads. You shouldn't even need to swap manifolds for you to be okay, but for him to be okay you will need to swap. What are you guys trading engines?
Challenger
No, I have no idea who this guy is or where he lives.
autoxR
No, the guy is giving me a free motor that has round ports, that I was going to use to swap out a bad square port engine. Thanks for the helpful info!
