AK-Z
Not sure if this would go with the 4 cylinder forum or here. Move if need be. Back round: Fitting KA24de into my 280z. Ka came with auto tranny and no computer. Have 5 speed from the L28 Plan: attach l28 5 speed to KA engine. I removed the L28 and tranny and have tried testing fitting the tranny to the KA. No issues yet. Tried to fit L28 flywheel to KA. No fitment. Issue is the center hold diameter is about 1.5 mm too small on the flywheel, bolts alignment have no issue. I'm going to be ordering a new clutch kit anyways. I the flywheel looks like it in decent shape. Is it worth milling the flywheel to have it fit, or ordering one for 240sx? and should I order a clutch kit for a 280z or a 240sx? and which TOB? I measured the distance between the back of the L28 flywheel and the fingers on the pressure plate, it came out to be 65.3 mm. i know that no one have any definite answers. So suggestions and assumptions are welcome.
turbobluestreak
Why not just use the KA24DE 5 speed tranny? If you can't find one for the KA get one for the non turbo 300zx FS5W71C and I can sell you the KA bellhousing that was left over from my KA Transmission. tbs
AK-Z
<======== location + shipping = cost more than i would pay for the tranny
Kennysgreen280zt
The issue will be the angle of the shifter stick in the car IIRC.
AK-Z
I'm mounting the engine in orientation to the tranny. what i really need is an answer, or a direction to an answer, to my clutch kit questions.
