Mycarispurty
I should be picking up a set of Weber DCOEs here pretty soon and am going to need a shop to rebuild them and clean them up real good. I'm in Chattanooga, TN and looking for a shop or individual around here. If not I guess I could ship them off somewhere. I just prefer local so I might be able to drive to go get them so they can talk to me and maybe give me some helpful info when it comes time to mount them back up and fine tune them if they need it. cygnusx1
Do it yourself. Get a gallon of parts cleaner, take each carb apart carefully. Document the parts as you remove them. Soak them in cleaner overnight. Blow through all the passages in both directions with a can of compressed air. Make sure the floats, float. Re-assemble them with a new gasket kit. It's easy, relaxing work. There are tons of books and probably online instructions on setting the float heights. There are really no adjustments that you can make on the carbs other than the float levels which are adjusted by bending a little metal tab. All the fine tuning happens on the car with a screwdriver. All you need is a good set of screwdrivers and a couple of small sockets.
Mycarispurty
I'd rather pay someone to do it so I know it's done right from someone with experience. I know Paeco in Birmingham will do it, but their parts and services always cost about 300340 times more than any other shop. They want $80 per carb and their rebuild kits are $60-65.
