skib
I hate electrical problems because they overwhelm me most of the time, like this one... turn signals stopped working, emergancy flashers work but only when the lights are off and when they are on the front driver side signal is out but comes on with the running lights/headlights, and the starter starts to turn over but cant quite make it and needs a jump or I might get lucky and it works after a few trys. It also seems like the dash lights and brights are super dim. Any ideas?
V8ZRACER260Z
Check your grounds! The most likely culprit is the front harness ground on the lower center of the radiator support. Remove the bolt and clean the terminal & bolt with medium grit sandpaper and/or a wire brush and reinstall bolt. Also check the main body ground from the battery to the body of the car and the ground cable to the engine while your at it. What is hapening is your turn signals are not getting a ground and trying to ground through the lighting circuit via the turn signal bulb filaments. This is why they go out when you turn on the lights 12 volt meets 12 volts and no ground. Once you fixed the grounds apply a light coat of paint or battery terminal spray to kkep them from corroding again. Hope this helps Rick

skib
Ok, so I checked the battery ground and there was a ground on the fender well kind of near the battery that Im not sure what it's for but I cleaned it anyway and no luck yet. But I can't find any ground on the radiator support?
V8ZRACER260Z
if memory serves me right if you follow the wire harness forward along the right (passenger side) frame rail it turn towards the drivers side under the radiator and the ground is near the center. I'll go check my parts car in the morning if you need an exact location.
skib
Ill take another look in the morning and see if I cant find it, a PO has done some wire hacking (looks like they went at it with a machete in some spots) and it makes some things a real PITA thanks guy, who ever you are. skib
Ok, everything seems to be be working now. I found the all 3 connections to my alternator loose:confused: and I relocated the battery ground. I then just went threw and double checked all the connections in the engine bay. I still haven't found the ground you mentioned though, witch still bugs me. By the looks of some of the wiring Iv fixed I swear this must be the PO... Thanks for the help V8ZRACER260Z
