JustAFantaZ
I was at San Antonio Raceway's Midnight Madness event tonight, and I ran a best of 12.0@122, 2.0 60ft on bald street radials. Unfortunately I lost to a small-block Ford-powered ~79ish RX-7 on slicks and the bottle AND I broke some bolts on that pass. The RX-7 did an 11.6@120. I tried one more pass because I wanted to break into the 11s, but there was just too much vibration somewhere underneath to go all out. 12.7@113 on that pass, but at least I stomped a 350Z. On the way back home, 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th shifts were grinding, so it looks like it's back to the shop this week. I also lost my driver's side Z emblem somewhere along the line. For comparison, my previous small-block Z's best all-motor pass was 12.90@~107. With a 150-shot it did 11.90@124. Mas28O was driving on both of those passes. I recall that he was using my street radials, but he says we had some drag radials on. All I know is the car didn't hook up that night. Still, I was on bald street tires tonight and almost got my all-motor pass better than that previous N2O pass. Overall, it was a great experience that I wanted to share. A few people sent compliments my way on the car (those should all go to LS1 Z for building it and making it look great.) I thinks that's remarkable considering there were over 200 other fast cars there. Made it home safe. Next time I'll drive out there with the Mickey Thompsons. Thanks. I'll be back out there soon enough. The bolts were 3/8". I borrowed a jack and saw that it didn't come from the driveshaft. It was probably the diff mount as I was already warned to check those periodically. I'll check it out later after I wake up. It's the transmission I'm most concerned about though.
