Savage42
They are different, but they will mount into your Z with the MM conversion. Here's the thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=132062

rudypoochris
forgot to mention that the z32 diff i got is a longnose r200. Then it isn't a Z32 diff.

mrcheeze36
u mean z32 diff only come in shortnose versions? Correct. Twin turbo Z32s came with R230s, while the NA Z32s came with short nose R200s
Administrators BRAAP Posted October 3, 2008 Administrators Share Posted October 3, 2008 1) ALL Z-32 differentials are the short nose style. N/A is R-200, TT is R-230, both are short nose! All S-30, S-130 and Z-31 diffs are long nose. 2) The Short nose diffs are NOT a direct bolt-in for the long nose. Input flange and output flanges are different, as well as all the mounting points. 3) Fabricating new diff mount as well as altering the driveline and different output shafts and adapters to get the output shafts connected to the wheels is required to get a short nose diff in car that used to have a long nose diff. This has been covered in depth on this forum. Here are a few links; These two threads cover ALL the Datsun/Nissan differentials, with pictures, what they are, what cars they came in and during what years. Read them both ALL the way through, (lengthy, but VERY good info.) http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103512 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114798 This thread covers more specific details regarding the short nose diff; http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131008 This thread covers the details and fabrication needed to install a short nose diff in a Z car that originally came with the long nose diff; http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97369 This thread coves various things such as difference in the short vs long nose, parts need to install a short nose in along nose car, etc; http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=108010 And don’t forget to use the search feature. Hope that helps and good luck, Paul
