Guest chevsun Posted April 13, 2002 Share Posted April 13, 2002 I have found a 87 300 ZXT (not white)with a build date of 4/87 and need to know how to verify that it is a clutch type Diff.I am going to look at it tomorrow. I have had the covers off many R-200 but no LSD's. Can you see a clutch pac? Also what do you run for oil? Do you add a posi additive like the GM product? Any info sure would be helpful. johnc Posted April 14, 2002 Share Posted April 14, 2002 Take the cover off and use a flashlight to look inside the diff via one of the round holes. You should see some clutch packs and steel shims in there. Expect to have to rebuild it (they all need rebuilding every 30 to 50,000 miles).
