fl327
hey ive been driving the car more than i have been in almost a year, and im finding mroe and more things that i gotta do, this is number one. when car is warm, shifting is really easy to do and really likes to shift, but if i get stuck in traffic and have to repetitively go from neutral to first and shift alot, after i while i have to pump the clutch pedal to shift it into first, the longer im in stop and go the harder it gets to put it in gear, almost killed myself missing second and having to pull over when i got rejected. could it be the fluid boiling over, would changing fluid type help it out? im pretty sure a 1" mc is plenty big enough, would going to a different slave with more throw help it out? weird stuff i know. before i go to a different slave cylinder maybe i dont have to? will bleed clutch cylinders adn used a synthetic fluid dot5 first to see if theres any difference, want to make sure no air in line. any thoughts suggestions fellas.??? Guest kc6wfs
Sounds like the fluid is getting hot or you have the slave cyl going bad on you. I'd replace the slave and with it you have to change the fluid. Just my thoughts... Dave
Guest Anonymous
I had the same problem that got progreeively worse until the clutch would actually let go and the car would creep forward. I couldn't find any leaks. Bleed the system several times. I thought maybe the fluid was heating up. Turned out the master cylinder piston was letting fluid pass back into the resevoir. It was brand new too. I talked to the tech guys at Wilwood and he suggested a 3/4" master to go with the 3/4" slave (I had a 7/8"). Haven't had the chance to test it out, but garage tests show it's holding. It's a little softer, but not bad. Jon
