utvolman99
Well, dont know much about Maximas. You need to find out what kind of rearend it has. If its independant then its probably an R180. If so you could probably do the same swap we do on the Zs. If its a solid rear, your guess is as good as mine. As far as the trans goes that just all depends on how strong your engine is going to be, how much you want to spend and if you want to shift gears. If you go with an auto 700R4 Very strong 200R4 Not as strong better first gear If you go manual T56 Bullet proof six speed! $$$$$ WC T-5 Hard to find good to aprox 350hp T-5 Everywhere good to aprox 300hp Just my two cents
Guest Aaron
If memory serves, Those Maximas had essentially the same running gear/suspension as the 280zx. In that case, the rear should be a R200, and according to folks here on the board, it should be good to around 500hp.
jeromio
I seriously doubt they ever put a R200 in the Maxima. It only ever had a L24. I think they had a different rear suspension too, so it's difficult to say how easy it would be to put an R200 in there.

Guest bang847
I am 90% sure it has a R180.. but if it aint broke why fix it? now if you are planning on breaking it.. thats another story.. (more power to ya) seriously, why not drive it till it is blown up?? might last longer than you think...
