shadesh Posted December 17, 2008 Share Posted December 17, 2008 I have a 1975 280Z which I am converting to SUs. I have a N42 head and block and the head has the hole for the mechanical fuel pump. What do I need to do if I want to use a 240 mechanical pump? Does the cam pulley or anything on the engine has to be changed or can I just bolt on the mechanical pump??? Thanks in advance.. Now I have to find the eccentric.. Do I have to buy the eccentric only or do I have to buy the sprocket and all? Don't know if my question makes sense.. naviathan Posted December 17, 2008 Share Posted December 17, 2008 I have one. Someone put an L26 bored over to a L28 in my 77 and they left the eccentric on the cam bolt. shadesh Posted December 17, 2008 Author Share Posted December 17, 2008 For now SU's seem way to be a cheaper way to run my car. I am planning on using the EFI at some point when I can afford to have my injectors cleaned and to purchase all the sensors and so forth.. I think EFI is a good way to go but you have to be ready to freshen up some of the components which mind you are 30 years old. Naviathan, pm me on the eccentric. I am in southern california..
