Guest zfan Posted August 31, 2002 Share Posted August 31, 2002 I have a 1971 240Z with a 355 sbc and 700r4 tranny. Im currently using a 23/2500 B&M hole shot converter. The problem Im having is at WOT and manually shifting there seems to be a 4-600 rpm lag from when I shift to when it changes gears. The other night at the track I shifted on my first run at 6k but it went to 6500 before shifting and I have my redline set at 6400/not good for motor or me to have flashing red light when zipping down 1/4 mile track. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? I must admit Im not very smart when it comes to 700r4's. I do know it is a 1989 700r4 out of a vette of some sort. My second run I shifted at 5500 just to play it safe and it shifted around 6k. If I leave it in drive and let it shift on it's own at WOT I get shifts at 4800 rpm's and that will not work at the track.
