gdv350ss
Has anyone here purchased products from this company or know of their quality? They seem to have their act together and offer a wide assortment of braking options. I'm thinking about using these stock sized vented rotors with the Toyota 4x4 calipers. http://store.r1concepts.com/Items/Item.aspx?SKU=pmf08094%20-%20120.42011&caSKU=pmf08094%20-%20120.42011&caTitle=NISSAN%20240Z%2070-7/73%20Brake%20Rotors%20-%20Premium%20Series%20-%20Front Opinions please. Ferrariferg
I've never bought from them but I plan on getting their premium front and rear drilled/slotted rotors for my 83 ZX. My friend got a set for his 91 RX7 and is very happy with how they look but he hasn't installed them yet so I cant tell you about how they perform. I have heard good things from others though. Armand
Eh I would save your money honestly. Stock rotors are pretty much stock rotors regardless of being drilled or not. The solid rotor design can't dissipate heat fast enough, and putting bigger calipers on them isn't going to help too much. The threshold of the stock rotors needs more help to dissipate heat than some holes and slots. Switching to vented rotor is the ideal upgrade. Ferrariferg
Only the stock rear isnt vented and from what I know of R1's replacement is vented. I'm going to call them before I order to find out for sure. Unless someone who already knows lets us know.
gdv350ss
Update: I contacted R1Concepts today and found that their 240Z front rotors are NOT vented. I had thought that they were. Since I'm looking for a vented front rotor set up, I inquired about their 84-85 300ZX front replacement rotors. They confirmed that their Eline or Premium rotors for this application ARE vented. Here are the two options......pricing is per pair. http://store.r1concepts.com/Items/Item.aspx?sck=5927&SKU=emf08102%20-%20121.42034&caSKU=emf08102%20-%20121.42034&caTitle=NISSAN%20300ZX%2084%20Brake%20Rotors%20-%20E-Line%20-%20Front http://store.r1concepts.com/Items/Item.aspx?sck=5927&SKU=pmf08102%20-%20120.42034&caSKU=pmf08102%20-%20120.42034&caTitle=NISSAN%20300ZX%2084%20Brake%20Rotors%20-%20Premium%20Series%20-%20Front Even though I've yet to see any of their products, I've got to give them props for proactive customer service. I shot them a couple of emails today asking quite a few questions and each and every one was responded to promptly.
