TomoHawk
the JTR book mentions installing the rear axle parts from an Audi Quattro. Does anybody have any info or results? It's supposed to have an LSD in there...

Guest Anonymous
ok, what year audi are you talking about. quattro means all wheel drive, and many audis are quattro models. i currently own a 97 audi a4 quattro. in know in mine it's an electronic locking diff. i am not sure if earlier models are lsd or locking. you might check into a quaife. SBC_400
I have never heard of this swap, but I do know that the mid 80's audi 4000 quatro's did have a form of an lsd in them because they were all wheel drive, not 4wd, and they also had a lockout feature. A little dial on the dash that totaly lockes the front and rear diffs. If it fits it would be a sweet deal.
Guest Thurem
I think the biggest problem is gonna be to fit the Quattro front axle and get it hooked up to the trans.
TomoHawk
I think JTR was talking about only using the rear axle, because of the lsd.
randy 77zt
i might be getting some rear diffs from 2002 irs ford explorers .they are having a slight whining but would not be heard in v8 z.ring gear is 8.8"ratio is 3.55 but gears and lsd are cheap for 8.8.housing looks like it will bolt to mustache bar after 2 holes are drilled in it.all of fords new suv are irs.
