240zJon Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 I just bought a 240z and the dam gas tank is all rusted inside. i toook it off and pressure washed it but it still has rust in it. I found another tank for $45 but i have no idea what condition it is in. should i reseal mine, or just hope the other tank is not rusted and buy it? Oddmanout84 Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 POR-15 has a kit that will clean, derust, and recoat your gas tank that creats a surface purportedly impervious to rust. Motorsport auto carries the kit. About $60. Of course, this isn't going to fix you gas tank if the rust is so bad that you have holes...
