nevada z
Does anyone know what is the different between 240z and 280z strut assembly and rear lower control arm. I was checking out the MSN catalog and 240z and later year S30 has the different parts # for them. Does 280z has beefier struts since it is heavier car? I have both strut assy I was wandering if I can use 78 280z strut assy and rear lower control arm on my 72 240z.
zedman240
All 240Z and some early (74) 260's have strut tubes with 51mm OD and later 260/280's have 55mm strut tubes. I'm sure the lower control arms are similar. The 260Z 2+2 rear hub carrier is different to all other models.
johnc
280Z rear struts are 1.25" longer then 240Z rear struts. The rear of your 240Z will be raised by that amount if you install unmodified 280Z rear strut tubes. The 280Z rear LCAs are the same dimensionally as the 240Z parts but are stronger.
