mylesblaq Posted April 13, 2009 Share Posted April 13, 2009 I received my MSA Type III air dam today. The installation instructions are vague. Has anyone install this air dam on a 81-83 280ZX. If so, could you post some better instructions and pics? This is my first project car and this is what I have done so far: New floor pans and support rails Repaired the rocket panels Repaired all the rust spots Removed the rear bumper Changed the interior to black Seats and dashboard are being re-upholstered I will post pics soon. roro4g63 Posted April 15, 2009 Share Posted April 15, 2009 Here's mine on my 72 240z. we had to make new brackets for the corners by headlight housing to prevent bumper from cracking. also made struts that connects rad supports to front lip (just under fog light hole) to add more support. I mostly like them but they come down about an inch too far and they seem to tilt. I noticed that too, but in the advertising on Zstore it looks straight. I'll be working on it this weekend. They are refering to the 240/280Z Type 3 Air Dam. No one ever talks about the ZX Type-3 so I forgot about it; when roro4g63 posted that picture, I didn't even question it and the OP didn't say anything either. I received the 30th Anniversity Air Dam (aka MSA Type III according to the site). http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7FAD/50-1444 If you look at the accessories at the bootom on the page, you'll notice that it states that the lights are for the MSA Type III.
