bobbyc
i'm lookin for some fuel pump relays...one to run the walbro for the rail...and the other for a low pressure pump for the surge tank. i've seen the kits through summit...and they have the heavier gauge wire that i'm lookin for...they run about $30 a piece...i was just wondering if there is anything out there that will use a heavier gauge wire for the pump...and possibly save some money. the universal relays i've found look to be designed for a 18-20 gauge wire...i'm gonna run something a little thicker on the fuel pumps. Scottie-GNZ
Why are you concerned about a "kit"? A GSL392, as you will use it, will probably draw 12-14 amps, so a good quality generic 30/40A relay will get the job done. Along with that: - Get some blade connectors and 10g wire - Run 10g from your power source to the relay 30. The power source should one that supply 13+V - Run 10g from the relay 87 to the pump + - Run 10g from the pump - to a solid ground - Connect the original fuel pump + wire to the relay coil (85 or 86) - Connect the other side of the relay coil to a solid ground. You don't need a kit and doing it this way will not cost a lot but this is not a place to scrimp.
