Guest Anonymous
In the electrical section of the JTR manual there is a white wire for the for the positive terminal of the starter. I don't see this wire or may have clipped it. Question is, it seems in the Haynes manual it comes from the same place the red/white wire for the alt output is. Can I just piggyback this wire to the starter? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Craig
Guest Frank280z
I believe so. Colors under the hood were different than JTRs description. I used a thick white and a solid yellow to the starter. White w/ red goes directly to the fuse panel. So that goes to the alt. volt. reg. Do yourself a favor and get a remote selenoid if you don't have one yet. Since your wiring now.... ------------------ Build it. Drive it. Improve it. http://www.angelfire.com/extreme2/frankzpage/
pparaska
I think this is really going to depend on the year of the Z. My 73 has a black w/ yellow stripe wire to activate the starter solenoid, just as JTR says. ------------------ Pete Paraska - 73 540Z - Marathon Z Project pparaska@home.com Pete's V8 Datsun 240Z Pages
BLKMGK
My '72 also matched the JTR manual just fine. Only weirdo thing is that JTR talks about the passenger side - pics and all - but that some of my wires were on the driver's side. THAT drove me crazy for a few minutes
