1981 280ZX, A New Beginning :)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys and gals, earlier this year I acquired an 1981 280ZX non-turbo 2+2. From what I've checked so far (I haven't completely stripped it yet), there is no major rust, interior is abit tore up and cracked but I'm going to replace it anyway. The windscreen is also cracked but I'm busy finding an replacement. It'll be my project from this year onwards. Nothing extreme though, just to modernize the interior alittle (bucket seats, new gauges, etc), exterior change (looking at getting an custom widebody kit made, having some difficulty with that :/), but a complete mechanical overhaul (I plan on dropping an RB25DET in it sometime next month). Here's some pictures.

So far, I've removed the front fender which irritated the hell out of me, aswell as a massive tower block spoiler the previous owner had on the trunk (damn thing was so heavy, it made the whole trunk lid buckle in).

I was hoping I could learn from the Z masters here on this wonderful forums, pick up some tips here and there. Alot of the parts I need in general, are all custom made, but it would be awesome if you guys could point me in the right direction, but please do keep in mind that I will likely have to import things from the US, because I'm located in South Africa :).
