brmcginn
Hello Forums, 1976 Datsun 280z I recently developed a problem with my brakes in the form of the brake pedal not going down at all and when pressure is applied to it. When car is off and I apply pressure I hear a little burst of air escaping but yet the pedal still does not go down. When the car is running I hear a steady light stream of escaping air but the pedal still does not go down. Another seemingly odd occurence is that when the car is running and I apply pressure to the brake, the engine seems to run richer as if the intake has an obstruction. If anyone could please help with this it would be greatly appreciated. I checked the master cylinder caps and the hoses leading away but I still feel no air bursts (the reason i did this is because the leak seems to be coming from the Master cylinder). Im also not losing a noticeable amount of fluid and I dont see any fluid leaks at all. Thanks, Brian
jt1
Check the reaction disc in your brake booster. A search will turn up lots of info on how to do that. If it's still in place, you probably need a new booster. jt
brmcginn
Ok we recently bled the brakes and tried to find the source of the leak but we still have not fixed the problem.
