Arif Posted May 28, 2009 Share Posted May 28, 2009 I've got a 280zx tranny hooked up to a L28et motor. When I get on it in third gear the shifter pops out of gear. Whittie Posted May 30, 2009 Share Posted May 30, 2009 Arif, I have a standard 260Z box with upgraded new-model synchro's, and when the gears are worn, i have this exact problem. Happened on about 3 gearboxes now. Current issue is falling out of 5th under power. previous was 2nd when coasting at +4000 rpm, first was 1st gear under power. It could be a similar issue for you, or the keepers as woldson says. Either way my guess is something is worn and has worn gear edges that dont 'grab' anymore and is letting the 'box fall out of gear. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
