Another will they fit!

Recommended Posts

Well guys I need some advice about some wheel sizes. I don't want to zg flare the car but the rear fenders are rolled. I plan on getting the arizonazcar 4 wheel wilwood brake kit with 5 stud hub. The wheels I am dieing to get are work emotion 17X8 with 25mm offset in front and 17X9 with 17mm in rear. Whats the posibility that these will fit? I don't have coilovers just the tokico spring/shock combo...so im guessing i will need coilovers also.

Thanks,

James

Ya I posted a topic about this a while ago too... and was curious to see what people with some experience thought about wheel fitment with the stock fenders.

I'm looking at a similar setup. I have the 5-lug, 4 wheel disc brake conversion from Arizona Z car. I also have the coilover upgrade. I've seen people on the forums (like Clifton) that have 17x8 fronts and 17x9 rears in non-flared wells, with the EXACT SAME suspension/brake setups we got, ktown z.

The sizes I was looking at were: 17x8 +25mm offset FRONT. 17x9 +15mm offset REAR.

Tires to go with them: 235/40/17 FRONT. 255/35/17 REAR.

I talked to Dave over at Arizona Z Car, and he says that the 5-lug conversion naturally adds a spacer distance of +0.5" to the FRONT, and +0.75" to the REAR. Thats +12.7mm to the FRONT, and +19mm to the REAR. I originally wanted to go with 17x9 +15 ofset at all four corners, but I don't know if the FRONTS will clear the full movement.

The problem with fitting these wheels wont be that you will necessarily need to flare out the guards, your wheels will whack into the spring perches, particulary on the front, but most likely on rear as well!

My experience has been very different from that of other Z owners, but I ran a 17x7 with a 20p offset and it just cleared the spring perch, so thats about 120mm of backspacing - the wheels you listed above have around 140mm of backspacing!

You will need spacers and the 9" wheel on the rear will poke out past the guards I would be guessing!
