ktown z
I purchased the mckinney tranny mount and realized it won't bolt onto the body where the stock tranny mounts are. I have searched this website and most pics are for 240z's. There are no bolt holes for the tranny mount to mount to. Does anyone have any advice who have done this swap before? Thanks, James
jakeoster
Yep, I have a 1975 280z with an RB25 swap with McKinney mounts and it works great. You do have to do a little modification and cut off the stock tranny ears. Click on my link below for pic and ask if you need a better one. ktown z
What bolt holes did you use to mount the tranny mount to the underbody? I don't have any pretapped holes to mount the tranny mount to. I looked at your pics and the position where your mount kit is has no holes on my car. Did you have to drill and tap a mounting point? fast-datsun
You have to drill and bolt new trans mount to floor pan..
zilvia_gt
I'm just wondering, does the McKinney mounts come with the polyurethane isolators like the red(tranny) and yellow(engine) ones in Jakeoster's pictures or are those universal energy suspension parts? ktown z
Thanks for the reply. I kinda figured that out but wanted to be sure. The Mckinney mounts come with the isolators. Thanks, James
fast-datsun
We do not use Energy Suppension. Engine issolators are our own designed, made for us by a major company and trans are made for us by another company... for correct application see out web site as we have several options.
