bluchev Posted June 18, 2009 Share Posted June 18, 2009 im working on a customers 1977 datsun 280z which has a 350sbc with a 700r4 trans. it appears(from my search results) that it has a stock r200 differential with 3.54 gears(open). i am completely new to anything z related so i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as far as what would be a better replacement, whether it is from a vendor that you know of or something youve personally had experience with. the car is just a cruiser. i think he may want to upgrade to a posi style differential. the reason im posting this instead of scouring the entire site, is because this needs to be fixed asap. the current diff in the car has missing teeth on the pinion gear . thanks for your help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You can pick up a open 3:54 R200 fairly cheap, and not have to worry about if it will match up to everything, like you may run into by swapping diffs to another type (LSD). This is just my opinion...
