280z4me2
What do these cars run on a stock 302? Friend of mine had a 89 Mustang with a 306. Car ran 13.4. With a 75 shot it was near 12.3. That car is about 1,000lbs more then a 280z.
nismo kid
My 302 powered 260z ran 12.84 with shitty exhaust & carb. It had a performer intake manifold thats the only good thing it had.
Pyro
a 280z weighs around 2850 lbs a 89 mustang around 3300 lbs. that is about a 450 pound difference which is typically good for 0.450 seconds quicker in the 1/4 mile, using the 100lbs is worth 0.100 seconds rule. slyhog22056
Your 280 Z weighs 2850??? mine only weighs 2470 with a 302 and AOD. that is on a CAT certified scale. but i dont have the factory dash and interior either, and i already thought i was over weight
Pyro
Yes, my 280z weighs 2850 pounds (just like every stock 280z out there). That is the stock curb weight for a 280z or 280zx coupe. Stock 240z's weigh in around 2400. functional bumpers, bumper supports, heavier doors, AC, more electronic stuff, and heavier rear ends (r200) made 280z much heavier than 240s. Michael Yount
An 89 notch fox body with few options weighs more like 2950-3000. The heavily optioned verts near the 3300-3400 range.
slyhog22056
ok, i dont have any of the bumpers or bumper hardware, dash, interior, fuel tank, spare tire well, i forgot about those huge heavy bumpers and their hardware. Guess all that stuff does add up...
