misturmoneybags
For all you lucky folks with power steering in your V8 Z, I need your help! I bought a SBC V8 swapped '73 Z recently and its a pretty clean and well done swap with P/S and A/C both installed. BUT, the power steering has a little quirk. When the wheel is turned to full lock on either side, the car makes the most horrible grinding noise accompanied by some rattling in the steering. I am completely stumped and I've checked the power steering fluids and it isn't running low. If anyone can help out, that would be greatly appreciated! fastzcars
It depends on the rack that was used. The new rack may have more liner travel so the wheels/tires may be hitting the frame rail and or the tension control rods! I have that problem. I just have to learn not to turn the wheel so far when I make a 3 point turn. There was a post of a person that made some steering stops that bolted to the front LCA. Good luck!
