luvemfast
What can I do as an upgrade for my stock 280ZX dizzy? I have been told that I can have it recurved and made into a mechanical advance. Is this a worth while thing to do? What advantages will it give me for my money? Thanks, Simon
letitsnow
Is it a turbo car? If so, the best money spent is an aftermarket ems. If not, someone else will have to answer because I'm unfamiliar with them. I wouldn't give up computer control for a mechanical advance when it's so cheap/easy to get a megasquirt setup. Mechanical advance is antiquated.
luvemfast
Is it a turbo car? Non turbo car Would fitting a turbo dizzy be an "upgrade"
letitsnow
I don't believe the turbo dizzy and the n/a computer play nicely, IIRC the n/a is a variable reluctance(vr) type and the turbo is an optical. The output signals are very different. What are you planning to do with it that makes you think the advance curve needs to be changed? On a stock engine there isn't a whole lot to be gained by playing games with the dizzy, unless nissan got it horribly wrong. Which they might have, but I kinda doubt it. luvemfast
I'm going to drop into a dizzy workshop on the way home from work to see what they can offer.
