Guest zfan
I have a 1971 240z with a 350 chevy and no oil temp pressure gauge in it. Was the original gauge a electric or mechanical gauge? Anyone know, Im looking at replacing gauges VDO type coolant temp., fuel gauge and oil pressure in place of crappy stock stuff. I already have replaced tach and speedo. zfan..Mike
Guest RXO510
The oil p. gauge on our '71 Z was an electrical one. We have replaced it with an Autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge. Was a very easy swap to our SBC. J & G
Tim240z
I am also planning to use a mechanical for the oil pressure. Mechanical gauges are more accurate and more reliable. They either work, or they don't, so at least you know. The other gauges are going to be electric since the wires are easier/neater to route, and in my opinion oil pressure is the most important of all...just my 2c worth.
