Blown Gasket :-(

Noddle

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was doing some 3rd gear pulls, tuning my MS II system, and this is what happened, 7K, 15psi

Originally I though it was a manifold gaskets, but once I got it pulled down, I saw the head gasket hanging out the side of the block,

But I've had some fun with it,

N/A L24, dished piston, N47 head

440cc injector

intercooled

  • 3 weeks later...

The weather cleared up for a few hours today, so I had a chance to pull it down and have a look,

It looks like it been detonating for a while, the AFR is pretty good, but I assume my timing is way to high.

at least it's giving me a chance to fit my EGT

Nigel - Why were your pulling your so high (7,000 rpm), do you have a cam in your car? Also if your AFRs were fine why would it be detonating...confused. Your MS can pull

timing?

Hi,

It's up and running now, but after looking at my spark table and seeing high degrees at low RPM, I decides to make some changes,

this is my new table, any comments are welcome,

at some point I will need to go to a dyno to have it done professionally
