Hooking up sender unit wires on fuel cell?

Hey , I bought the Summit 16gallong fuel cell w/ gm sender unit. They guy said it was basically just a two wire, ground/signal, sender that could be used on any car. Thing is, my 280z sender unit wiring has three wires. I'm assuming one is ground, one is signal....but what is the third and where should I put it. Thanks.

I'm probably too late to tell you... but you should be using the yellow wire... The yellow wire with the stripe is the low fuel level warning signal (you won't use it anymore).
