mossy74
I've just started doing some rust repairs on my 240z, I think I've got a bit of practising to do yet but I think its not too bad. I was thinking of doing my floor pans as well but I'm a bit scared to tackle something that big, any comments on my newbie welding?

proxlamus©
the welds looks a little cold.. if your doing spot welds all around.. wait another second or two on that spot to let it penetrate other then that looks good since your grinding it all off
V8_DatZun
That area is where i began learning to patch weld also.. It gets ALOT easier with practice. I agree it looks like it was a little cold and just puddled up ontop of the metal instead of penetrating. When you see the pool glowing bright orange it's hot enough... mossy74
I've started on some other areas and I've actually started to hold the spot longer and moving the puddle along, penetration is great and if I blow a hole its quite easy to fill it by moving the puddle across.
