Guest ttoude
I searched "Oil gauge, Oil pump, Relief valve, Oil pressure, sending unit, Oil Sending unit, Low oil Pressure, Oil Pressure," and a couple others. I got some good info for some other issues but nothing on my current prob. I'm still not getting an answer to my question, Please Help. ***Original problem/Question,**** My 77 oil pressure gauge has gone from consistantly pointing to 12:00 (Yesterdy) to going to nothing at a stop light then raising in accord with whatever RPM/Speed I'm at (today). I have read thru the FSM and I have been wrenching for 20+ years. So, Im about to start swapin parts.... I've never seen this behaviour in a oil gauge. It seems obvious that the oil pump is the culprit. But I've used the words "It's obvious!!" before...... Since this is my first L6 and money is tight, I wanted to ask first before I blow cash on what MIGHT not be the prob. Thanks In advance Mike

freakshow
hook up a mechanical gauge. I had to hook up a mechanical gauge, just to make sure that the car had oil pressure. I just went ahead and left the mechanical one hooked up, but I imagine your sender went bad.
