Exhaust on a budget

So I really don't have much cash right now so I have two options. 1983 280zx non turbo, I dont have to DEQ may car...

#1- Buy a universal HKS Stainless muffler 2 1/4 inch, 2 1/4 universal high flow cat, and MSA header. Install all using the pipe in the stock system and eventually add new pipe.

#2- Buy the same setup but have someone install it with fresh pipe from the get go...

Option 2 requires me to wait a long time...

Option 3- buy some pipe, a universal glass pack(optional), a universal 'turbo' muffler, and some bends, assemble it and either have someone weld it or use U clamps.

I'm not sure how much the HKS muffler is, but this whole setup probably would cost about as much as just that muffler.

Or you could just get an MSA exhaust and have all the fitting and cutting already done for you.http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PEC06

Yea, those HKS mufflers are a pretty penny. They look and sound good but you can get just as an aggressive sound from a glasspack or turbo muffler. Headers also don't do too much to a completely stock engine. I'd vote for the MSA turbo muffler system and a high flow cat. Shouldn't be more than 400 or so installed.

Good luck!
