  1. Ya... I kinda don't have a z anymore. But next year I will me in the market for a nice 240z!
  2. Sorry guys. I bought a Nissan pickup, so now I can only trade for my Subaru.
  3. Yep. Any Subaru with the 2.5 has known headgasket issues.
  4. Send a picture of the driveways you scrape on too
  5. I had an 83 280zx, NA 5-speed, lowered with semi racing tires and somehow never got stuck except when I parked on a patch of ice, then the wheels just spun till I got a push, otherwise in the snow it was great and when you floor it in the parking lots at night you get sweet drifts! I got up to 3rd gear going sideways at about 5 MPH, haha!
  6. Well this is a bummer, the ad is expired and the guy hasn't emailed me so I guess I wont be buying that car... Anyways, still looking, I have a lead on a 73 240z so we will see! Thanks for the support guys, I wont stop till I am part of the Z family once again!
  7. I have very little experience but when I do stuff on cars it just comes natural so... I didn't end up with the car sadly, so...
  8. Looking for a Z! My main criteria is: Any Z, no 280zx or 300zx Must be a stick, not an automatic Must be able to run and drive I would prefer the thin 240z style bumpers, and an early 260z or 240 because I want carbs, but will definitely take the right FI car. Otherwise I can fix things like rust or whatever. I can do up to 1500 dollars or some cash and my AK-47 or trade my Subaru Legacy worth around 1000-1500, or any combination there in. Located in Portland Oregon area. Delasangre@gmail.com or Thedragondelasangre@live.com
  9. Indeed it does have the turn signals below the headlights. It is carb'ed, it has the red/orange duct connecting both carb air intakes.
  10. All I can say is from the ad it is posted as a 74 260z, and has the thin 240z like bumpers.
  11. I am gonna try hard to get this 260z, its a 74 so it has the good bumpers. Its apparently in daily driver condition so I am Jumping on it! Thanks for your confidence! Oh, any of you guys tall? I fit in the 83 280zx I had and the 84 300zx but will I fit just as well in a 260z? I am 6'5
  12. Alright cool, I am going to try and go take a look, this one just happens not to have a phone number so I have to rely on email. From the ad it pretty much has fading paint mostly on the hood, it says rust but doesn't say how much. And it comes with a very nice set of something that looks like a set of western cyclone's.
  13. What would make me not want a 260z besides the normal Z stuff?
  14. So I have heard some bad talk about 260z's. Well my question is, should I get one or wait it out for a 240 or 280? Its a great deal that runs and drives... Opinions?
  15. He also said he has been driving it like this for a year or so, and its been sitting for a few months now. So how long can I keep driving it before I need to rebuild?
  16. First off forgive me, I have owned a 280zx and a 300zx (z31) but have been without z car for a long time, so all my previous z car knowledge is replaced with subaru stuff and now I want to get back into the game with a 280z. The car I am looking at smokes, the guy says piston rings maybe. I have never done any rebuilding or anything but I want to try if I have to. I have some friends who just rebuilt some motors and they would be able to help me out. My question I guess is how cheap can I go on replacing piston rings can I go without being stupid about it. Can I just leave the engine in and pull everything out the bottom and replace em and slap it back together? Or would this require pulling the motor?
  17. Hey. Will the brake rotors and pad from a 84-86 Turbo fit an 88?
  18. So I replaced the main and pod gauges, climate control, power supply, and clock as well as the dash wiring harness in hopes to make the gauges work. Well after plugging it all in it worse than before. The gauges are all backlight (faint glow of green) but nothing on the display, and the climate control is the same way, its blowing full blast and wont stop unless I unplug the climate control. Is this because I used an incorrect wire harness? I vaguely remember the plugs at each end being slightly different.
  19. I just did an overhaul on the dash. New wiring harness, gauges, climate control, ect... NOTHING WORKS, first test run and its all dark. Gauges are dark, climate control is backlit but unresponsive and new units screen is dark in one area just like the old one. pod gauges are backlit but nothing showing. Help, why isnt this stuff working... I know this is rather vague but I am so upset and lost...
  20. Sounds like a good idea, I made the mistake of only getting about 90% of the crap out before removing the plugs...
  21. Before when it was running it was at 14-16 volts at the battery terminals while running, but now when I hook up jumper cables it has normal power but the second I take of the jumper cable it has no power...
