TomoHawk
I polished the spokes on the stock Z steering whee, but he HUGE, stock button doesn't look so cool. Is there another kind of horn button that would stick up less? At the least, i'm going to remove the 'Z' logo and stick in something with the black horsie on it
dmanzo57
My car didn't have a horn button when I bought it, so I installed a chrome one that one of my Father-in-law's tenants left behind... Don
Mike kZ
That looks much better then that ugly black thing Datsun put on!!
TomoHawk
I looks like you can remove the plate that is screwed onto the underside of the stock horn button & attach something over the top.
TomoHawk
No thanks, Grog- I like the polished metal, so I'm keeping the stock steering wheel. I was hoping that it would have a flat ring instead of a tubular one because I was thinking of rivetting on some nice wood and make my own wood steering wheel! The tubular right is probably therebecause it has a (foam?) grip. TomoHawk
Can you just get a (generic) horn button? After you take the plate off the back of the "ugly black thing," a.k.a. "Horn Pad," you could screw on a spacer ring & then another horn button.
Grog
I just swapped in a steering wheel from a ZX and pitched the old one. It was a strict bolt-on with no modifications. There is a picture on my website that shows it in my '75 Z. Another steering wheel option if you choose to use it. www.freewebs.com/grogsv8z
