Just enough to cover the car without dropping all the way down. The guy probably has the clapper rigged up to the system. but pretty ingenious. My grandpa was the same way. He used and old storm door and put it on sliders to replace the door between the garage and kitchen. Added a spring as a helper for the garage door opener. I still have his shoe repair kit. and these are his work shoes. My sister took the pic. He wanted to clean them up before she did but wouldn't let him.
