  1. Jeff Winter at Ralley Sport in westminster. SCCA champion and engine builder. http://rallye-sport.com
  2. true scarabs are supposed to have the scarab badges and emblems. I don't think those came in the kit.
  3. Just received my renewal. $8k agreed with Roadside(hagerty plus $150) $149 coverage for $299 total. I had a friend that had a '77 280 he totaled and it was insured for $16k, he had no problems with them. Your choice if you want to get it repaired as long as it's less than the agreed coverage, how much less, I couldn't tell you. Make sure they didn't up the coverage above what it was from last year.
  4. This guy basically did it only with a 411 wagon. Also check out his other project on a 520 pickup. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/52056-misinformation-look-here-to-get-the-411/
  5. They will not be a direct bolt in. The pockets are different. Best to buy after market seatbelts. http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/seatbelts.html
  6. Looks like Paltech rebuilds them but use oem nissan throttle bushings. Ztherapy is ahead of the game with the sealed bearings.
  7. '82 280zx turbo, 4 spd auto, full tank of fuel, stock jacking tools. without driver. 3060#
  8. pulled flat tops off, sprayed brake cleaner through all the hard fuel lines. Nothing dirty came out, not bad with 28 yr old gas. Last week I went through the brakes and clutch lines. Cleaned all masters and reservoirs, rebuilt rear brake cylinders and bled the brakes, new fluid throughout. Car has been parked for 28 yrs and still has original paint.
  9. It might be Manuel's rack, but it isn't a manual r&p. You can see the hoses attached to the crossmember.
  10. I tried grundy. minimum 3 classic vehicles insured to at least $75K
  11. Nissan/datsun did, starting with the 260z.
  12. If both your phone and computer are bluetooth capable they will talk to each other.
  13. Look up bmw 2002, I think msa used to sell them, but should be able to find them elsewhere. **edit** I guess the bmw gas cap doesn't fit that well. google "locking gas cap 240z"
  14. Wasn't mine. Helped do the front suspension, eibach springs, poly bushings, illuminas. Started the driver side first. Couldn't get the strut out of the tube. PB blaster, heat. So far nothing working. Did the pass side with no problems, already back together. Back to the driver side strut. More heat, pb blaster. Leaving a scissors jack under pressure with vise grips at the top with nut at the top of the strut. Base of the scissors jack against the vise grips, the other end of the jack on the spring perch. The cartridge does move side to side slightly, but not enough to completely free it up to lift it out. Will keep it under pressure over night and smack it with a hammer again in the morning. ** Bent strut housing, got one from salvage yard, same thing bent housing. Gave her one of mine, will replace when she gets one. Car is on the road. 5-24**
  15. Check your combo switch and the fuse block. There might be indications of heat at the wires on the combo switch as well. Typical problem with the 240z's. Fuse block and all the amps for the lights going through the combo switch. The parking light fuse is the one usually that melts the fuse block.
  16. Not mine, but helped put a 5 spd and 2.8 into a 240. The engine came with a 4 spd. So took the to collar and bearing from the 4 spd and put in the 5 spd. Should have worked right? Could be we didn't bleed the clutch enough, but had no bubbles. I guess we will bleed again, if that doesn't work I guess we will pull the trans. At least the engine starts up and runs smoothly. Except the plug wires are moved over one spot.
