I thought you guys might like to see this. I just got the how-to and pics for mounting the 3000GT mirrors on the Z. http://www.ideal-z.com/howto/mitsumirror.htm

I like them though some might find them too big.

Please keep in mind that the mirrors are still Mitsubishi red and really clash with my car. They do match the primered spots, though smile.gif hehe

I can't wait to get the power options hooked up but it will be a while.

Clean looking install! I read your search for the right mirror and I think you found it. I have seen a clean install of a mustang mirror, but no documentation on it. Also I remember a thread here on a Hyundai mirror swap, which might be for me! Lotsa wrecked Korean cars around here...

Thanks! Hyundai, huh? Let me know if you come up with anything. I saw someone post about Miate mirrors one day but I haven't seen anyone that actually used them. I have now been looking at Miatas and would have to agree that it would look nice.

I didn't need the defrost, either, but if I must suffer through it... smile.gif

I liked power controls over the cable type adjustment because the cable is a PITA (to me)to work with. The Firebird mirrors I bought had the cable adjustment. One would also have to fool with the cable each and every time one wants to remove the door panel or do any work inside the door cavity. Just food for thought.

I can't seem to picture, in my mind, the mirrors on the Z28 mentioned. I would like to see them.

Z28 huh? That may be a clean swap depending on how it mounts to the door - the size and shape of the Z28 mirror is appealing to me and I don't need a defrosting feature. Chevy product is common in the local yards, so I'll have to take a look. If you know of a web site or can post a picture, all the better, but thanks anyway for the info!

Hey, nice article! Can you post or send some pictures that are taken closer up? My existing mirrors look like crap and I'd love to find a better setup! Actually, there are several good articles on that site - I'm DL'ing them all right now smile.gif

I've heard Camaro and Hyundi - anyone got pics? Would want to find something that would overlap the holes I've already got drilled for my aftermarket junk mirrors... Can you give any measurements on the Mistu mirrors mount holes?

Ask and ye shall receive...

The mirrors mount with two screws 70mm apart, center to center. The base of the mirror, at its widest part, is approx. 50mm. The length of the base, front to rear, is 105mm.

I have also put some more pics on the site. Click on the smaller pics to see a larger pic.

Cool, I spotted the new pics up top smile.gif Ya' know - I'm wondering if RX7 mirrors might work? Has anyone measured? I'll not have time before I go out of town but perhaps when I return I can do some checking of my own. IMO, the mirrors look pretty nice on that car - not sure they'd look as good on a Z tho' Opinions?

Sorry, this is th ebest pic I've got handy:

They might look pretty nice. You just kind of have to visualize it in your head and then take a bit of a chance or be willing to do what it takes to make them fit. They do look great on the RX7!
