Guest Zpeed Posted January 31, 2001 Share Posted January 31, 2001 Okey i am thinking of buying a 280z with all these very good extras, 280zx race engine and lots more but there is a bit of rust around the place, one major rust spot has gone all the way though and is as large as a 5cent piece or around 1/4 inch and goes all the way though the metal. Now the car is a steal because the engine is in perfect condition but its just the body. I need to know if will be able to fix the rust spot, The rust spot is below the side passenger side window, (not the door, the other one). Other rust at seam welds or at structural points (T/C rod sockets, frame rails, etc, would be more of a concern. BLKMGK Posted January 31, 2001 Share Posted January 31, 2001 Have you checked the other usual places? If it's managed to rust there I'd be shocked if th ebattery tray at least wasn't in toruble. Check carefully otherwise I agree - that one spot migh tnot be too bad. Check the interior where that went through to make sure there's nothing nasty going on inside...
