Owen
While FRP and carbon are nice, I think the parts are too expensive to replace or repair. Watch how the parts just shatter off this car when it hits a rather soft object. http://199.190.101.49/movies/hare.mpeg Owen
DavyZ
Well the pounds per square inch are incredible when you think about how fast the racecar is going--it may as well have been a brick. Ever try to do something stupid like opening the car door while driving and grabbing something off the street like a traffic cone? It'll just about tear your arm off! Can you say pain? The forces generated by speed of an object are incredible! Cool video BTW; Yuichi posted it at ZDriver a while ago. I think it's from inepthumor.com or something. Thanks for posting it--I'll send it to a few friends. David
Guest Willieboy240z
I wonder if they had RABBIT STEW at the track that night.....
Drax240z
Actually Davy, cones at 50km/h aren't that bad. Back in high school we used to do drive-by pickups, collect them, then drop as many as we could at speed in an intersection just to watch peoples surprise. Owen
Hmm, dropping a cone OUT of a moving car I've done...see the What's the evilest prank you;ve ever played thread Owen
DavyZ
Yes, I was exaggerating to a point there, Richard. I knew someone that tried to pick up a cone while hanging out the side of a pickup. They were going maybe 50mph (not km/h) and needless to say, he was not able to sufficiently grab the cone--he just had a very sore hand and arm for the next day or so. I was just making my point...but got carried away in exaggeration David
