Guest nezzie76
Have any of you ever heard of thunder ranch? They make the 250 Gto kit just like Stable. They are significantly less expensive than John Washington's and also Stable. My question is if they are for real. I called them and emailed them and I have gotten replies so it seems to me they are real. They say they have been around from 79 and they make other kit bodies too. I'm leaning towards them because they are close enough that I can drive down and pick them up instead of paying the crate charge and the shipping. So what do you think? aviatorx
Tom McBurnie is a reputable maunfacturer and has very much pioneered the GTO conversion for the Z car. You can check out his website at http://www.Thunderranch.com His design is probably a tad truer to the original Ferrari, but the subtle differences between his and say, Stable or reaction Research are what makes for interesting choices. Some have even used front ends from one supplier and rears from another! McBurnie and John Washington have great reputations. Stable is being run under new ownership - the owner (Jeff) is online here now and then and has good molds for a project to be based on. Any of these guys would be willing to have you visit before making a purchase ...
Guest JAMIE T
The Deathstar will be using the McBurnie 250GTO. It will sport a Cadillac Northstar, hence the name "Deathstar". Other modifications are being made to my car to use a trunk instead of the hatch. Also my car will have a full tube front subframe to allow room for the Northstar. Do a search under "Mcburnie" and "250 GTO" You will get some results, one is a nice car that is forsale with a 327 chevy.
