CamH Posted March 16, 2010 Share Posted March 16, 2010 Well, boys, I am borrowing my buddy's 240Z which has an L28 and a 280Z five speed transmission. I was getting on the freeway earlier and upshifting from fourth to fifth gear and the transmission made a quick popping noise and just stayed in gear. No amount of forcing or anything will take it out of gear. Is there anything I can try to get this thing working or am I looking at swapping the transmission this evening to get the thing to work in the morning? jasper Posted March 16, 2010 Share Posted March 16, 2010 If the shifter pivot pin didn't fall out, I would say your looking at a shift fork/syncro/blocker/detent problem.
