Guest Locutus
I have found most body shops won't guarentee the paint if they don't do the body work. Many of them won't even touch it sometimes. I have much to learn but hopefully I will have a 30 x 30 workshop soon, so I might take a shot at learning how to do it myself. Mike
DavyZ
Locutus, you are right--most won't guarantee the paint if you've done the body work, but a lot of it is BS if the products used are compatible, etc. Still, I should think that if you stripped the car of trim, etc, yourself, that is less work for the shop and they should take that into consideration when giving you a price for the paint. Ultimately, I want to shoot my own car (with paint) too, Davy
Guest BadKarmaCreepin
so if i take some pics of the under body (and label the area) could you guys tell me how to fix, repair, replace the needed areas? thanks.
pparaska
It'll involve getting access to a MIG welder and some 18 gage steel sheet, but it's not that bad. I made floor boards and subframe connectors - first metal work I ever did. Check out the "structural mods" part of my site for some ideas. Shoot those pics across and we'll try to help.
