RJZ
Well, My buddy and I started tearing into the Z, we got the old engine pulled, it suffered a blown head gasket, and then I partially assembled my engine and dropped it into the bay to mock up and see what we are gonna do about mounts.. It looks so good sitting in there.. Also tried fitting in some new seats, They came out of an Audi TT, the looked really sharp and promising, but they sit to high for me unfourtunatly, so Im probably gonna be on the search for some decent reclineable racing seats that will fit (any suggestions for a 280?? lol) Anyways, Ill throw some pics up.. RJZ
Thanks guys. We are building the mounts, we dropped it in there to take measurments and see where we end up, we are gonna try to push it as far back and low as possible, And this isnt the hard part for me.. lol.. its the wiring.. lol.. It will be mated to an R154, we have an extended one but it looks like we will be able to get away with a standard one, which we have both laying around the shop. The engine came out of a rhd supra front cut. Yes, those are twin k3 turbos, not sure how they run yet since they have never been used since we got them, the engine was originally going to be swapped into a mk3 supra, but plans changed and the 7mgte went back in there.. We were toying with the idea of doing a 1.5jz (2j lower 1j head) but i decided not to bother and keep my higher revs for now.. Im also fabbing up the jdm supra radiator to work along with the hydrolic fan set up, i think it will make for an interesting combo.. -RJ
3XAZOWNER
what did you do with the seats? Is the seat shown in the car one of the seats that sat too high? do you want to sell them?
RJZ
what did you do with the seats? Is the seat shown in the car one of the seats that sat too high? do you want to sell them? Yes. those are the seats that sat to high, and hit the tranny tunnel on the drivers side.. im kinda tall so they really leave me no room with a helmet on, these seats are sitting at the shop still, As they were offered to me from the shop owner, Ill see if hes still willing to sell.. RJZ
Looking good keep us posted on how it goes...and any issues you may run into thx. Oh will do, unfortunatly its not gonna go as fast as I want to put this thing togehter as I travel alot for work, shold hopefully have the motor and tranny mounts all togehter mon or tues of next week, and ordering up a painless wiring harness.. This chassis is new to me and kinda confusing with the shocks and suspension and stub axles etc.. lol, we'll get it all figured how how it all works.. lol Edited April 16, 2010 by RJZ
