jonzzer
Okay so i just bought my 77 280z and it doesn't start. When i turn the key to on the efi/fuel pump relay by the ecu doesn't click and the fuel pump doesn't buzz. So i went through the efi bibles testing and it still won't start. I tried to open the Afm flap since it is a safety and still no fuel in the lines. i know the pump is good i have bench tested it and it works, also lines are not clogged. Im at a loss on what it could be, either the ecu or relay is bad,or the wiring is grounding out somewhere. Im going to test the relay as the fsm says to. Any one got any ideas? Could it be a fusible link? Jon Edited April 14, 2010 by jonzzer
S30 SPL
Disconnect the starter solenoid wire and crank it. This should energize the entire system and get the pump to turn on. If it doesn't, work backwards. Check the pump electrical connections for power, if nothing, go backwards. Check the 4 fusible links and the 2 connections at the battery for the EFI system. 280z06
I have power to the pump when ign off and when its on. i don't think i have the 2 fromt he battery I am at school right now, so I am working off my memory, unscrew the EFI relay and bridge HOT wire(blue i think) with the wire going to the fuel pump(one of the green ones)-like when veiwing the connector the blue should be on the left and the green should be the bottom middle, i think there is a total of 3-4 green and 1 blue, anyway bridge them with a paperclip. Right now that is what i have to do to get power to my fuel pump. Not sure exactly why it not getting power(since it gets grounded in ECU) on its own but with Key-on the pump initally primes..but when started it loses all its power, but bridging it it retains its power. Works for me...
