bmxxx224
I've been searching for a week and cant find an answer. I am swapping a 81zxt motor into a 83 zx. I have followed the writeups and everything seems to be right except I have no spark. I have fuel. I have a switched 12v to the ignitor. I dont think im getting a signal from the yellow/white signal wire from the ecu to the ignitor. Im not sure what the signal is supposed to look like but I only have a multimeter and I do get something like .3 -.4v while cranking. I have 12v and ground and 2 signals from the CAS. The green light on the ecu is on with the key in the on position and goes off while cranking. So i guess my question is what should the signal to the ignitor be? The swap was running in the donor car so I dont think its a hardware problem. But maybe the ignitor could have gotten damaged? I have switched the coil with the stock NA coil and it didnt help. roger.svoboda
the cas is on the front of the 81 motor and in the dizzy on the 83. besure you have switched the appropriate wires to account for those differences in the engine.
bmxxx224
Yes the cas is on the front and i have it wired and getting a signal to the ecu. I am wondering about the signal wire from the ecu to the ignitor on the coil. How many volts should it be and would I be able to see a pulse with just a multimeter?
